The newly established College of Environmental Science (CES) aims to introduce a Bachelor of Science in The Geology as its first program. This new College and program both reflect the University’s ongoing commitment to advancing the UAE’s goals in sustainable development, environmental stewardship, and resource management. The mission of the College is firmly grounded in delivering rigorous, outcomes-based education and conducting applied research that supports the environmental sectors within the UAE and internationally, and maps to the Strategic Plan of the University of Al Dhaid. All graduates will be equipped with in-depth disciplinary knowledge, interdisciplinary competencies, and transferable skills aligned with the UAE Qualifications Framework and international academic standards. They will be well-prepared to pursue meaningful employment opportunities locally and globally and to contribute to the long-term sustainability and resilience of natural systems. In line with the UAE’s national strategies and the increasing relevance of desert-based innovation in the face of climate change, the College actively fosters a culture of applied research, knowledge transfer, and industry collaboration. Its research agenda aims to address key challenges in environmental sustainability and land use in arid environments, positioning the College to make a significant regional and global impact. The University remains committed to the continuous development of its academic offerings and institutional infrastructure to support students, alumni, and stakeholders across the full value chain of the geological and environmental sectors.
